Electrical Services Delivered

Our scope of works included a full range of commercial electrical systems, designed and installed to support the new teaching block and refurbishment works:

• LV Distribution & Small Power Systems – providing robust power infrastructure across classrooms, ICT suites, offices, and social spaces
• LED Lighting & Emergency Lighting – low-energy lighting solutions for classrooms, lecture theatre, atrium, admin areas, and corridors
• External & Feature Lighting – high-efficiency LED lighting for the new breakout area, entrances, and external pathways
• Fire Detection & Alarm Systems – installation of compliant fire safety systems across new and refurbished areas
• Access Control, CCTV & Security Systems – ensuring a safe and secure environment for staff and students
• Structured Cabling & Data Systems – full ICT and Wi-Fi cabling infrastructure to support teaching and administration
• Solar Photovoltaics (PV) – roof-mounted solar panels generating renewable electricity and reducing grid reliance
• Plant Room Electrical Upgrades – demolition of the existing electrical plant and installation of a new, more efficient system
• Earthing & Bonding Systems – ensuring safe operation of all installed electrical systems
• Testing & Commissioning – thorough certification of all electrical services installed

Refurbishment & Infrastructure Upgrades

Alongside the new teaching block, our electrical works supported a wider refurbishment programme that delivered:

• Upgraded Main Entrance & Access Bridge – electrical systems integrated into the remodelled entryway
• Wayfinding & Signage – new illuminated signage to improve navigation around the site
• Building Envelope Enhancements – electrical works coordinated with installation of new windows, doors, and cladding
• External Infrastructure – power supplies for the new access road and fully accessible ramp

Sustainability & Renewable Energy

Sustainability was at the heart of this project. Evans Electrical installed a roof-mounted solar PV system to cut energy bills and reduce carbon emissions, combined with low-energy LED lighting throughout the building. These measures deliver a future-ready, low-carbon learning environment in line with the College’s sustainability goals.
