About this Project

Two Bridges Academy is a newly constructed special needs school in Alveston, near Thornbury, officially opened in September 2024. Operated by Enable Trust, the academy supports pupils aged 2–19 with severe or multiple learning disabilities. Evans Electrical was appointed by ISG Construction to design and install a solar PV and battery storage system as part of the school’s commitment to sustainability and reducing operational carbon emissions.

The renewable energy installation contributes significantly to the academy’s energy efficiency targets while providing long-term financial and environmental benefits. The system includes 604 solar panels with an installed capacity of 320.12 kWp, paired with battery storage to maximise on-site energy usage and reduce reliance on the grid.
