Overview

We delivered a full electrical installation as part of a high-quality commercial office fit-out in Cardiff for Oprema, one of the UK’s leading security equipment distributors.

Following a period of sustained growth, Oprema relocated to a new office at Fairway House, requiring a modern, flexible and future-proofed workspace. The project involved transforming an existing first-floor office into a contemporary working environment, incorporating open-plan offices, breakout areas and meeting rooms.

We provided a coordinated electrical solution that supported both the design vision and the operational needs of a growing business.

Electrical Design & Installation Approach

Our team undertook a full strip-out of the existing electrical services, enabling a clean and efficient installation throughout the space. Close collaboration with the wider project team ensured seamless coordination with mechanical and architectural elements, maintaining programme and quality standards.

Where possible, we incorporated sustainable and cost-effective solutions, including the re-use of existing infrastructure such as the underfloor busbar and comms cabinet.

Feature & Architectural Lighting

Bespoke feature pendant lighting installed to key areas including kitchen island, dining spaces and breakout zones
Lighting enhancements to collaborative and social areas including booth seating and games spaces
Targeted spotlighting to kitchen and feature areas
Manual switching arrangements to suit client requirements

Small Power Installation

Installation of floor boxes, each providing twin socket outlets for flexible workspace layouts
HDMI connectivity to meeting room floor boxes for AV integration
Power distribution to offices, meeting rooms, breakout areas and comms rooms
Kitchen power installation for appliances including microwaves, fridges, dishwashers and specialist equipment
Cleaners’ sockets installed throughout

Data Cabling & Infrastructure

Installation of Cat6A structured cabling system to support high-performance data requirements
Dedicated data points for Wi-Fi, printers and AV equipment
Installation of containment systems including conduit and back boxes
Integration with existing comms cabinet and infrastructure

Mechanical Electrical Supplies

Electrical supplies installed for mechanical systems (final connections by others)

Testing, Certification & Handover

Full electrical testing and certification carried out
O&M manuals, as-fitted drawings and technical documentation provided
