Each room was uniquely designed to provide a distinct guest experience, requiring tailored electrical solutions to accommodate bespoke lighting, climate control, and digital connectivity.

Delivering the project in a busy city-centre location presented logistical challenges, including restricted site access, coordination with multiple trades, and strict programme timelines. Evans Electrical collaborated closely with the client, consultants, and contractors to ensure the works were carried out with precision, efficiency, and minimal disruption to the surrounding area. The finished hotel provides a vibrant, modern, and sustainable hospitality environment that has quickly become a landmark destination in Cardiff.

Evans Activities Comprised

• Low Voltage Distribution – Installation of LV panels and sub-main cabling throughout the hotel, with distribution boards strategically placed to serve guest rooms, hospitality areas, kitchens, and plantrooms.
• Lighting Systems – Full LED lighting installation across all guest rooms, corridors, lobbies, and back-of-house areas, including bespoke decorative lighting for public spaces and feature lighting in the rooftop restaurant.
• Small Power Installations – General and specialist power outlets throughout bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, conference facilities, and offices, with integrated desk power solutions and public charging stations.
• Fire & Life Safety Systems – Addressable fire alarm system, aspirating smoke detection, disabled refuge systems, and DeafWatch-linked alarms for inclusive safety.
• Security & Access Control – CCTV coverage, door access control systems for guest and staff zones, and an intruder alarm system.
• Data & Communications Infrastructure – Structured cabling, Wi-Fi, IPTV, AV systems for meeting rooms, and a PAVA system for announcements.
• Mechanical Plant & Specialist Connections – Electrical connections to HVAC systems, lifts, kitchen equipment, and rooftop restaurant facilities, integrated with the BMS.
• Rooftop Marco Pierre White Restaurant Fit-Out – Specialist lighting, AV, and electrical infrastructure for bar, kitchen, and seating areas.
• Earthing & Bonding – Full installation including lightning protection for the multi-storey structure.
• Testing, Commissioning & Handover – Comprehensive system testing, O&M manuals, as-fitted drawings, and a 12-month maintenance package.
